Chad explains the connection between electronegativity values and the polarity of a bond. He shows the technical definitions of nonpolar covalent, polar covalent, and ionic bonds, but also gives the classic rule of thumb for quickly identifying each. Chad finishes the lesson by introducing dipole moments and showing how to use the bond polarity and molecular geometry to determine the overall polarity of a molecule.
