Here we will try to have an Introduction to the Decoder.
A Decoder is a combinational circuit that converts the binary information from n – input lines to a maximum of 2^n unique output lines.
Decoders are used when there is a need to activate exactly one of the 2^n outputs based on the n – bit input value.
Usually, decoders are provided with enable input EN.
When Enable input is zero EN = 0 all the outputs are zeros.
When enable input is one EN = 1 depending on inputs outputs will be produced.
