The understanding of EX-OR will help a lot in understanding EX NOR Gate.
EX NOR Gate is a 2 input and 1 output gate which produces an output of 1 when both the inputs are either 1 or 0.
The symbol for EX NOR gate dot encircled.
The EX NOR Gate is also called an equality detector.
The output of EX NOR Gate is 1 if both the inputs are equal.
A 2- input EX NOR gate is going to produce an output of 1 only when the inputs are 1-1 or 0-0.
In the remaining cases, it produces zero.
There will not be 3-input and 4-input ex nor gates.
To produce 3-input and 4-input ex nor gates a number of ex nor gates are to be combined.
The very important point that we need to understand is EX NOR gate produces an output of 1 when the number 0’s in the input are even in number.
If we take a 3 input ex nor gate it will produce an output of 1 only when the number of zeros is even in number.
