Geometry 13.3b, Probability of Dependent Events & Conditional Probability

1K views on YouTube

An explanation that events are dependent if the occurrence of one event affects the probability of the other event. We use a tree diagram to show the probabilities for choosing two gems from a bag containing two pink and one blue. We find the probability of dependent events by using conditional probability, the probability of B given that A has occurred P(A and B) = P(A) ∙ P(B│A). We find the dependent probability that pink and blue number cubes are rolled in which the pink cube shows a 1 and the sum of the two cubes is less than four. We find the probability that a blue cube shows a multiple of 3 and the sum of the two cubes is 8.
