An explanation of the center of a regular polygon and the apothem. How to find the central angle of a regular polygon, and find the total area of a polygon with n sides at s length. We find the area of a regular hexagon, round it to the nearest tenth of a meter, by using the 30°-60°-90° Triangle theorem to find the apothem. We find the area of a regular pentagon with a side length of 8 inches by using the tangent ratio to find the apothem. We also solve the tangent ratio for the apothem and substitute it into the area formula to derive an alternate formula.
