Quantum Chemistry 11.8 – Aromaticity

Short lecture applying Huckel theory to aromaticity in circular planar hydrocarbon molecules.

The coupling between adjacent carbon atoms in Huckel theory allows the correct prediction of the extra stabilization due to aromaticity in planar cyclic hydrocarbons such as benzene.
