How to make ANOTHER YEAR by FINNEAS

Finneas production. Something that most of us are obsessed with. So let’s breakdown his new song ‘Another Year’ in Logic Pro X, the same DAW that he uses!

Another Year by Finneas has been highly anticipated, and as per usual he hasn’t disappointed. The chord progressions in Another Year are simply sublime, with very tasteful uses of the C diminished chord. The production consists of a lead vocal and a piano sitting in the front, supported by double bass, violins, synths and gentle minimalistic drums.

Breaking down pop tracks, especially when they have been produced by Finneas, can prove very beneficial. We can learn so much from what he’s done. Another Year is a great example of the power of simplicity.

I hope you can take something from this episode of Under the Covers. Hopefully we can all someday reach this insane level of Finneas production.

How I made ANOTHER YEAR by FINNEAS

Under the Covers #42

———————————————————————————–

Hello! I’m Hugh AKA 93 Acres. I upload two videos a week all about music writing & production. The channel is entirely based on teaching you everything I wish I knew I knew when I started making music 12 years ago! I really hope it can bring value to you.
If you have any topic you wish to learn about, let me know and I can make a video on it!

I have spent time performing with other artists, including a European tour with the talented Irish band ‘All the Luck in the World’.

I am now regularly releasing music under 93 ACRES, and my latest release ‘Buckle End’ is out now with SEBA SAFE.
