In this Video Lecture, Professor Fink defines “Hypoxia” and then describes the 4 Categories of Hypoxia: [1] Hypoxic Hypoxia; [2] Anemic Hypoxia; [3] Ischemic Hypoxia; and [4] Histotoxic Hypoxia. Reference is made to pulmonary disease, breathing at high altitudes, depression of the Respiratory Center (such as by drugs), hemorrhage, pernicious anemia, Sickle Cell Anemia, carbon monoxide [CO] poisoning (carbonmonoxyhemoglobin), hypotension, heart failure, thrombosis & embolism, and cyanide [CN] poisoning.
