Chemical Process Simulation | Distillation Column Simulation| Logic blocks – DWSIM-Water & Methanol

In this video we discuss how to simulate a distillation column. We use the process of shortcut distillation and then simulates the rigorous distillation column. Here we use the example of 60% mole/mole mixture of water and methanol, and separate that by using distillation. DWSIM logic block, controller is used to get the desired mole fraction in distillate by manipulating the reflux ratio. This is tutorial is useful to setup simulation of Distillation column in DWSIM and basics of logic blocks in DWSIM.
