In this video, Mr. Krug shows students how reaction mechanisms work, and how they can be used to write the rate law of a chemical reaction. The work gets a little tougher when the first step of a mechanism is a fast, equilibrium step, and we must perform a pre-equilibrium approximation. Finally, he discusses how multistep reaction energy profiles can be interpreted.
