Phobias are a type of anxiety disorder in which individuals have marked fear or anxiety about a specific object or situation that is out-of-proportion to the object/situation’s actual danger, results in immediate fear or anxiety upon exposure and fear and anxiety about the object occurs for more than 6 months.
