For this quick lesson, I used my simple drawing pencils and a sketchbook to convey a few concepts and techniques regarding edges and shading. Most beginners draw objects with no shading and only hard lines and this creates a cartoony appearance. By softening some of your edges in key locations and using some shading techniques, you can bring your drawings and simple sketches to the next level.
