Inkscape | Outline Text with Path Linked Offset

Using Path Linked Offset, we can create an outline around text in Inkscape. This can be using for making things like die cut sticker or t-shirt designs.

Steps:

1. Type some text using the Text Tool

2. Select text and go to Path, Object to Path (Shift+Ctrl+C)

3. Go to Object, Ungroup (Shift+Ctrl+G)

4. Go to Path, Union (Ctrl++)

5. Go to Path, Linked Offset (Ctrl+Alt+J)

6. Disable-able Snapping (%)

7. Select color for outline/offset

8. Click and hold node on text and drag until outline appears

9. (Optional) Select both the outline and the text and group them together (Ctrl G)
