We go over the very basics, starting with “hello world” and introducing the concept of “programs” and “modules” in Fortran. Rather than focussing on syntax we focus on developing good programming practice from the beginning.
No previous programming experience is assumed. We assume that you are already familiar with the unix command line (the “terminal”).
