Hi, I’m Abram Poliakoff and here is a fun and easy warm up. This video has minimal explanation and can be used as a quick routine to get your voice ready to go. We are going to focus on staying light and bouncy throughout.
The best way to do this is use a groove to help us embody the momentum and where our vocal energy and support should go. Let’s jump right in!
NAH Minor Groove
Let’s start with a catchy little groove in our lower chest voice. Let yourself lean into the bright resonance we get from the N and Ah vowel.
NO Minor Groove
Now we’ll move up into our higher chest voice. The main focus here is to make sure you keep the “No” vowel nice and round and tall. Use that N to get some support connection as you rise up and then just let the rhythm and momentum of the groove take over.
NUH Dom7 Exercise
Last One. I’ll change the chord for this one for a slightly different feel. Stay light lets bounce from chest to head voice until we find that balanced mix. No need to sing too loud with this one. Let’s keep it going! Great work and I’ll see you next time.
