Quantum Chemistry 12.14 – Generating Operators

Short lecture on generating operators in symmetry and group theory.

All molecular orbitals of a molecule must correspond to a given irrep of the point group. Applying generating operators to each atomic orbital produces molecular orbitals which are in compliance with the irrep of the operator.
