The hydrogen atom shows how the Schrodinger equation can be solved in a spherically symmetric situation to yield orbitals. The solution has radial and angular parts. Latter are spherical harmonics. Learn how to plot them. #h-atom #quantum_numbers #orbitalscience

This LUMSx production features a course taught by Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar to first-year science and engineering undergraduate students at the School of Science and Engineering. The course aptly titled “Quantum Physics for Beginners” gives an intuitive feel to the foundations of the rapidly expanding frontiers of quantum physics and quantum information. It aims to balance between conceptual correctness, accessibility, and applications grounded in real systems. It is very different from a typical modern physics course generally taught in universities, in that the current version uses a strongly ahistorical approach that focuses on the nature of quantum information, quantum states, and their manipulation.
