Dyson Spheres – Harvesting a Star [OOTW]

The Dyson Sphere… a hypothetical megastructure designed to harvest the full solar output of a civilisation’s host star, often considered a key component for any type 2 stellar Kardashev civilisation. In short, this megastructure acts as a container around a star and traps and uses all of its septillions of outputted solar energy. With this principle in mind, and so many variations of the idea nowadays, it’s an interesting concept to be sure. And though humanity may never be in need of or be able to create one of these, the idea that somewhere in the universe there might be some kind of star-harvesting mechanism is truly mind-bending.
