In this macro photography tutorial, we’re shooting dried leaves. Leaves, in general, are a popular macro photography subject, but when dry they can present some interesting challenges and create some unique images.

In this series of macro photography subject ideas and inspiration, Ben photographs subjects that you can easily shoot at home, with spectacular results.

In this week’s macro photography tutorial, we have a small selection of leaves to shoot. We left them out to dry for a few months and they became crispy and ridged, with no green colour left.

In this tutorial, we show you how to how to go freehand with the Adaptalux Studio for maximum flexibility when shooting a subject like dried leaves. We also light the subject from behind creating some spectacular images!
