Sometimes two or more groups of observations are displayed on a single plot. Legends help us identify each set; they make reading and interpreting graphs easier. In this R video tutorial, we will learn how to add legends to plots made in R and change the symbols/characters used in the legends as well as the look and location of the legends. This R tutorial explains how to use the “legend” fucntion, and the “fill”, “col”, “bty”, “pch” and “lty” arguments in R programming software for creating and customizing legends in R.
