Abstract macro photography with metal shavings

In this macro photography tutorial, we are using light and colour to create some abstract images of metal offcuts from CNC machining (aka swarf).

We are going to be challenged by a highly complex and reflective subject that has no specific point of focus. We’re talking about adding colour and lighting to make the most of a subject like this to create some abstract images.
