In this video, we look at how to name branched chain hydrocarbons. First I explain what is meant by a branched chain hydrocarbon. I then discuss the names of the different side-chains and how we apply them for hydrocarbons with one side-chain. We then look at hydrocarbons with more than one side-chain including those with different side-chains.

This video is aimed at the UK A Level Chemistry specifications. Students studying International A Level Chemistry will need to check their specification.
