A Level Chemistry Revision “Cis-Trans Isomers”

In this video, we look at a special class of isomers called cis-trans isomers. First we explore why we can see cis-trans isomers in alkenes and how this is due to the double bond. We then look at the features that a molecule must show in order to have cis-trans isomers. Finally, we look at how to name cis-trans isomers and I give you examples to try yourself.

This video is aimed at the UK A Level Chemistry specifications. Students studying International A Level Chemistry will need to check their specification.
