Continuing our study of the harmonic oscillator, we analyze the time evolution of the wave function we introduced in the previous lesson. By separating its amplitude and phase, we uncover an interesting result: the squared modulus of the wave function forms a Gaussian wave packet that closely follows the path of the classical particle. This rare case—known as a coherent state—illustrates how quantum behavior can sometimes mimic classical motion.
