14.1 Oxidation Reduction Reactions and Oxidation States | High School Chemistry
5.1K views on YouTube
Chad provides an introduction to oxidation and reduction. Oxidation and reduction are defined and accompanied by helpful mnemonics (LEO GER and OIL RIG). The lesson demonstrates how to identify the species being oxidized, the species being reduced, the oxidizing agent (aka oxidant), and the reducing agent (aka reductant). Finally, the rules of assigning oxidation states (aka oxidation numbers) are provided with several examples being worked.
