In this Video Lecture, Professor Fink describes the 3 Meninges (Dura Mater, Arachnoid & Pia Mater), the formation, circulation & reabsorption of Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF), and the use of a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) for sampling CSF and producing regional anesthesia. Reference is made to meningitis, the Subarachnoid Space, the Epidural Space, the Ventricles of the Brain, the Choroid Plexus, the foramen of Magendie (Median Aperture), the Central Canal, the Cranial Venous Sinuses (including the Superior Sagittal Sinus, Sigmoid Sinus & Jugular Vein), hydrocephaly, spinal meningitis, the use of local anesthetics during childbirth, Spinal (“Saddle”) Blocks and Epidural Blocks.
