Hi, I’m Fame Ketover of Lenguin.com and this is Mandarin Chinese. In this lesson we’ll look some more at how to talk about what you’ve done and how long you did it.
Clara Matthews, an American student at Taiwan University, is talking with another student, Chen Degang (德刚), on campus.

● Do you have any more classes today?
○ Nǐ jīntiān hái yǒu kè ma?
○ Nǐ jīntiān hái yǒu kè ma?
● I don’t have any more classes.
○ Méiyou kè le.
○ Méiyou kè le.

In the sentence (“I don’t have any more classes.”), the marker “le” indicates a new situation. This morning she had classes, now she doesn’t.
